About Amanda, M.S. CCC-SLP
Amanda Donaldson founded CommuniCAN Speech Therapy in 2019 so she could reach and serve clients and their families in their home environments. Fueled by the impact of speech therapy in her own young life, Amanda is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of her clients.
Although originally from Canada, Amanda spent most of her childhood in northeast New Jersey. She attended Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania where she completed the five-year accelerated program to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degree as well as her teaching certificate.
After graduating, Amanda moved to Phoenix, Arizona and spent over four years working in various school systems and adult rehabilitation settings. She has ample experience working with children from preschool to 8th grade with various speech and language delays, developmental delays, Autism, specific learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, and fluency and non-verbal issues.
Meet Lauren, M.A. CCC-SLP
Lauren received her Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University.
She enjoys the variety in workplace settings in the field of speech-language pathology, and she has experience working with populations from early intervention to adults. She has worked in many different settings including skilled nursing, acute care, inpatient pediatric, schools, and home health.
Lauren is passionate about providing patient-centered care and believes that empowering parents to be facilitators in their child’s communication growth is a vital component.
Lauren’s favorite part of being a speech and language pathologist is helping to make a positive impact on the lives of her patients.
Meet Rachel, M.S. CCC-SLP
Rachel received her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Arizona State University.
She has experience with populations from early intervention to adults and has worked in both adult inpatient rehabilitation facilities and pediatric home health. Rachel enjoys working with a variety of patients from children with speech and language disorders, to adults who have suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury and need rehabilitation for speech, cognition, and/or swallowing.
Rachel loves incorporating a client-centered approach to therapy to ensure both the patient and family feel involved and empowered with their therapy and progress.
Rachel's favorite part of being a Speech-Language Pathologist is helping patients feel confident in their communication abilities and improving their quality of life.
